Training Plans

Periodized trail running plans built from your actual history, not a generic template.

Built from your data, not a questionnaire

Most training plan tools ask you a few questions and return a generic schedule. Trailia reads your connected activity history from Strava, Garmin Connect, or Polar to understand your real fitness baseline before generating anything. Your current volume, intensity distribution, and recent progression all feed into the plan.

Periodization built in

Every Trailia plan follows a structured progression: a base phase to build aerobic capacity, a build phase to add intensity and elevation-specific work, and a taper phase to arrive at your race fresh. The length and emphasis of each phase adjusts to how much time you have before your goal race.

Trail-specific workouts

Plans include the full range of trail running sessions: easy runs, tempo efforts, hill repeats, intervals, and long runs with elevation built in. Strength training is included by default, because trail running demands more than just running fitness.

Adapts as you go

After each workout, you can log how it felt: effort level, sleep quality, overall feeling. Trailia uses that feedback to adjust upcoming sessions, easing off when you're fatigued and pushing when you're responding well. If your week goes sideways, natural language plan editing lets you reschedule with a single sentence.

Continues when you're ready for more

When your plan runs low, Trailia generates additional weeks that carry on from where you left off. You don't start over. You keep building.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Trailia generate my training plan?

It combines your activity history, race goal, available training days, time constraints, terrain access, and experience level. Trailia applies sports science principles including progressive overload, periodization, and recovery optimization to build the schedule.

Do I need a connected device to get a plan?

No. You can generate a plan without a connected device. Linking Strava, Garmin Connect, or Polar gives Trailia more to work with and produces a more accurate starting point, but it's not required.

Can I adjust the plan after it's generated?

Yes. You can reschedule individual workouts via drag and drop, edit the plan using natural language (Pro), or provide volume feedback to shift the overall intensity up or down.

Does the plan include strength training?

Yes, by default. You can turn strength sessions off in Training Preferences if you prefer running-only weeks.

What happens if I miss a workout?

You can mark it as missed, skipped, or move it to another day. Trailia accounts for missed sessions when adapting the plan going forward.

Can I share my plan with others?

Yes. Pro users can generate a public shareable link for their training plan.
